Bill Ritzel has 35 years of experience in the
chemical process and biochemical industries, responsible for process
development, process engineering and operations management. His
experience includes the grass roots design, permitting and start up of a
large manufacturing facility for catalyst supplied to the petroleum
refining industry. Recently Bill worked for Zymetis, a second generation biomass to biochemical start up responsible for scaling lab technology to pilot plant and demonstration facility scale. He was also a part of the management team of Atlantic Ethanol functioning as the “owner's engineer.” In that capacity Bill evaluated key ethanol process providers, investigated alternative process technologies and worked to develop infrastructure necessary to build a corn-based ethanol manufacturing facility on the Baltimore harbor. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Loyola College (MD) and was certified as a Six Sigma black belt in 2001 and Certified Quality Engineer in 2002.
